Companies can request activation of the signal in these locations from the 26th. According to the agency, 141 million Brazilians will have access to the technology. The National Telecommunications Agency (Anatel) will release the 5G band to over 187 municipalities from June 26th. Businesses can request signal activation at these locations. With this Wednesday’s decision (21), all 1,610 municipalities expected to receive 5G by the end of June already have the range released. See the complete list here According to Anatel, with the measure, 141 million people now have access to technology, which corresponds to 66.4% of the Brazilian population. As of July, other municipalities may have the lane released ahead of schedule. Siga Antenado is the entity formed by the main winners of the 5G auction to “clean the range” that will be used by the new technology. Before the auction, the 3.5 gigahertz spectrum band – which works as an avenue through which data travels – was used by satellite dishes for reception of the open TV signal and by satellite services. Siga Antenado has a schedule to install new antennas, in another spectrum band, and filters. The goal is to prevent interference with the 5G signal. People who have satellite dishes need to adapt the equipment. Those who are enrolled in CadÚnico can request a free kit from Siga Antenado.
