The divorce request made by the presenter Ana Hickmann, based on the Maria da Penha Law, it was denied by the judge of the 1st Criminal and Domestic and Family Violence Court of São Paulo. The information was disclosed by the Alexandre Correa, Ana Hickmann’s husband, this Wednesday morning (29).

According to the lawyer, following the court decision, the contested divorce request will be processed by the Family Court.

About the case

Ana Hickmann and Alexandre Correa, married for 25 years, had an argument at their home, in Itu, São Paulo, on November 11th. The presenter reported, in a police report, that she was pressed against the wall by Correa, who is a jiu-jitsu fighter. The attack resulted in a bruise on his left elbow, when it was pressed against a sliding door. The scene was witnessed by the couple’s 10-year-old son and employees at the residence. Ana Hickmann sought police help and registered the case as bodily injury and domestic violence.

The 52-year-old businessman refuted his then-wife’s accusations, stating that Ana was out of control because she was drunk. Alexandre reports that on the 11th it was unbearably hot in Itu, in São Paulo and that it was almost 40°C, with a thermal sensation of 43°C. And Ana, at lunch, had already drunk almost a bottle of red wine. I haven’t had a drink in five years. But those who drink know that drinking a bottle of red wine in a heat of 40°C normally won’t hurt you.
