‘The Book of Mark’, by Amazonian writer Gabriel Andrade, reveals to readers the secrets of the creation of the Gospel
An epic novel, which mixes historical facts, love and religion, on a journey through the first century, a few years after the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. This is the setting for ‘O Livro de Marcos’, by Amazonian writer Gabriel Andrade, which reveals to readers the secrets of the creation of the Gospel of Jesus, written by João Marcos, the first biographer of Christ.
Using historical facts, the result of research that lasted years, Gabriel Andrade takes readers on a journey through time, showing João Marcos’s difficulty in fulfilling the mission of writing the first Gospel of Jesus.
Set in the year 70 of the Christian Era, the novel brings the first steps of Christianity, when followers of Jesus were persecuted and arrested.
In addition to real people who are part of the history of Christianity, Gabriel Andrade presents his own characters, who live stories of love, hate, greed and religion, typical of a great literary novel.
As if the personal conflicts were not enough, the characters face the effects of the war between the Roman Empire and the Jews, which resulted in the destruction of Jerusalem, in the first century. Everything is narrated in detail by the author.
Gabriel Andrade highlights the intense research to write the book. “It was hard work, which took a long time to complete. We portray characters that existed in real life and had great importance in the creation of Christianity as we have it today”,
highlights the author.
