Manaus (AM) – This week, the Institute for Technological Development (INDT) presented the institution’s 2023 Management Report to the market. The general balance of the year includes relevant contributions to the development of RD&I in the North region, among them are projects for important areas such as Advanced Manufacturing, Communication and Networks, Artificial Intelligence and Materials.

Another highlight was the increase in scientific production, marked by the interconnection of teams and which enabled the expansion and diversification of knowledge in a collaborative way. Still on the human factor, the document highlights the importance of employees in achieving results and mentions the names of its 270 employees.

For Geraldo Feitoza, Executive Director of the institute, this performance is related to the capacity of human resources. “INDT is more than a technological development institute, it is a community of individuals dedicated to creating a positive impact on the world,” he says.

Past and present

INDT was founded in 2001 and since then has been strongly involved in the development of technology and innovation in the region, offering solutions in the areas of Software, Hardware and Firmware, Communication and Networks, Advanced Manufacturing, Autonomous Vehicles and Robotics, Materials and Chemistry, and BioTech .

Over these decades, the institute developed more than 400 projects, in addition to having more than 500 items of scientific production. In 5 thousand square meters, the INDT houses a modern, robust physical structure, which includes a laboratory network, with state-of-the-art equipment, including the first Anechoic Chamber in the region, capable of carrying out electromagnetic interference tests.

With highly qualified multidisciplinary teams, these laboratories are stages of discoveries and advances that contribute significantly to the scientific and technological progress of the Amazon and other locations, solidifying INDT’s position as a leader on the national and international scenes. Completing the structure of the building, a lighting project was implemented, which won 2nd place in the Abilux National Lighting Award, second only to the Museu da Língua Portuguesa (Estação da Luz), which had significantly greater resources.

Highlights

Some of the most innovative projects are related to the Advanced Manufacturing area, such as Theia, an experimental development project for a system based on 5G technology for centralized control of AOI stations (automated image inspection station), which aims to optimize, by means of directly reducing inspection time, the printed circuit board assembly process and improving the company’s production chain.

Janus refers to a research and experimentation project that works with the development of an Automated Optical Inspection solution integrating computer vision software and optimized hardware with the ability to collect high-quality images. Other highlights in the area are: Localization 5G, 5G TestBed CloudRobotic and GasView.

In the area of Communication and Networks, the highlight is the Onkitá project. The main innovative feature of this project is the dual connectivity offered by two long-range radios, allowing the device to send location data in extremely remote areas, switching between radios according to the coverage availability of each technology.

Scientific production

INDT marked 2023 with a revolution in scientific production, rising to a new level of innovation and knowledge. Cross-team collaboration has driven remarkable discoveries, reflecting a paradigm shift for an institute defined by a collaborative network of passionate minds.

The interconnection between different projects resulted in 12 notable scientific productions, covering advances in Materials and achievements in Artificial Intelligence. These achievements, published in renowned magazines and symposiums, solidified the institute as a reference in emerging technologies, promoting a promising future full of possibilities.

Future: with the floor, the president

Geraldo Feitoza’s message highlights the journey marked by the team’s innovation and commitment, overcoming global challenges, especially during the pandemic. Feitoza reinforces its commitment to cutting-edge technology, positioning INDT to lead and shape the future of business. It emphasizes the importance of a young and dynamic workforce, valuing the potential of employees, and reaffirms the commitment to Social and Environmental Responsibility.

“We are strategically investing in innovations that will not only drive our operational efficiency but also create impactful solutions for our customers. In a scenario where technology becomes the backbone of business, we are positioned to lead and shape the future,”

concludes the president of INDT.
