Amazonas invests R$306 million in credit and development actions benefiting over 130 thousand people

Investment was made in the state’s 62 municipalities

Manaus (AM) – Throughout 2023, the Government of Amazonas, as determined by Governor Wilson Lima, released more than R$306.5 million in credit operations and development actions that benefited 132 thousand people directly and indirectly. The investment was made possible through actions by the Amazonas State Development Agency (Afeam), the Social Promotion and Poverty Eradication Fund (FPS) and the State Secretariat for Social Assistance (Seas) and was carried out in all 62 municipalities in the Amazonas State. Afeam carried out 16 thousand credit operations that generated more than R$262 million in investments, exceeding the goals established by the State Government for the 2023 financial year, and reaching 48 thousand people. In Manaus, investments are in the order of R$90.3 million and, in the interior, resources reach R$171.7 million.

The commerce sector was most demanded by entrepreneurs across Amazonas, representing 60.4%, followed by the service sectors 21%, rural 15% and industry 3.6%.

Social

The FPS reached more than 83 thousand families with investments totaling R$34.5 million. In total, 97 social institutions were covered, 57 of which were in the capital and the other 40 in the interior. The transfers include permanent equipment and materials, utility vehicles, renovation and expansion works, in addition to payment of personnel, made available for the first time in notice no. 001/2022, as an appreciation of work that, in most cases, was carried out in a voluntary.

In the fight against hunger, through the Sesc Amazonas “Mesa Brasil” program, the FPS delivered more than 3.5 tons of food to 100 families in situations of social vulnerability. With the partnership of Cetam Amazonas, another three tons were distributed to the Aconchego and Super Mães groups. The initiative covered 80 families with children with disabilities and pregnant women.

The FPS also transferred more than R$3.3 million to priority actions of the State Government, including the renovation of six Comprehensive Care Centers for Children and Adolescents (CAICs) and the acquisition of fish for donation to families in vulnerable situations through the Family Assistance Program (PAF) of the Amazonas Sustainable Development Agency (ADS).

Pink Credit

Focusing on women’s financial autonomy, the Crédito Rosa program covered, in 2023, more than 1,700 women. In total, R$10 million were released, positively impacting the lives of women in 34 municipalities in Amazonas.

Crédito Rosa is offered by Seas in partnership with Afeam, through the Technical Cooperation Agreement. Since its implementation in March 2022, the Crédito Rosa program has served more than 6 thousand women in Amazonas. More than 400, across the state, received credit.

Consumer

In 2023, the Amazonas Consumer Protection Institute (Procon-AM) carried out 195 thousand in-person consultations, 36,600 online and 5 thousand conciliation hearings. The institution aims to develop guidance and supervision of the consumer market, combating abusive practices, protecting the rights of the population and, above all, promoting balance in the relationships established between consumers and suppliers.
