Amazonas has a high rate of telehealth consultations in the first half of 2023

More than 7,000 consultations were carried out at a distance, through 46 service points in the State

amazon – The State Department of Health of Amazonas (SES-AM) highlights the high rate of adherence to care provided by telemedicine in the interior of Amazonas. According to data released by SES, more than 7,000 remote consultations were carried out, through 46 service centers in the State, in the first half of this year.

The teleconsultation project is financed by the Support Program for Institutional Development of the Unified Health System (Proadi-SUS), through the Albert Einstein Hospital (HAE). There are 250 doctors who provide care.

Currently, the state offers seven specialties: endocrinology, neurology, pediatrics, pulmonology, cardiology, psychiatry and rheumatology.

The adviser of the specialized assistance department and responsible for the telemedicine project at SES-AM, Gabriel Cunha, highlights the advancement of technology for the success of the consultations carried out.

“In view of technological advances and the attempt to reduce existing queues in the public health network of our State, telemedicine has been an alternative for carrying out specialized care in the interior of Amazonas, and it is no longer necessary for residents of the implanted municipalities to move to the capital in search of assistance”,

highlighted.

The implementation of this system began in 2021, with the main objective of reducing regulatory queues for specialized consultations and expanding the use of telehealth across the state. From 2021 to the first half of 2023, 21,382 services were provided.
