Amazon announced on Wednesday (18) that it plans to begin delivering packages via drones in the United Kingdom, Italy and the United States, as part of its efforts to expand its aerial delivery program.
Customers in these locations will have the option to have their packages delivered by drone starting in late 2024, the e-commerce giant said in a statement.
Drone deliveries will be integrated into Amazon’s existing fulfillment network and deployed in locations that operate same-day delivery, the company added.
Amazon’s drone delivery service, called Prime Air, is currently available in two cities in California and Texas, where it launched last year.
