For her, a fresh start, after becoming a widow and needing to rebuild her life. But what was meant to be an escape valve turned into a professional turning point in the career of Joseane Caldas, who was born and raised in Santana (AP), settled in Maceió (AL) and has lived in Dublin for two years, in Ireland, where he went on an exchange program and studied English. She quit her job – which she was hired for – as a public school teacher to immerse herself in her studies and embark on an international career.
At the request of News of Brazil, she will be the protagonist of this week’s “My Unforgettable Trip” promotion. For this, she shares her Logbook on the following pages, with valuable information about Ireland and some places she has visited.
The beginning – “I’ve always been fascinated by Europe, since I was a little girl. After completing my degree in Pedagogy, I started the Literature-English course at the University of Alagoas. the difference in my career”.
Arrival – “I arrived in Dublin in November 2014, at the beginning of winter. The weather was always rainy and the gray landscape, cold of 1 degree below zero was not part of my plans, used to the intense heat, it was difficult to get used to the extreme, however, with time I started to fall in love with the city, with the people and customs and I realized that the Irish, in general, are very welcoming and friendly and are always smiling and love to strike up a conversation”.
