Alok said that the hospital has complete autonomy to use the fee, but that the pediatric ward has his special affection. The amount was not disclosed by the artist’s advisory. Three years ago, the Dj opened an institute that bears his name and works with young people in situations of social vulnerability. The Dj told g1 that since he started working on social causes, he has been committed to motivating people to participate in them. “The intention is to provoke a network of good, of solidarity. I don’t know if I inspire others, but I try to understand my role as an artist and as a citizen, recognize my privileges and return this in actions that positively impact people’s lives.” Since the beginning of the Festa do Peão, artists that are part of the edition’s line-up have made donation requests via Pix to the hospital. The action was called “Desafio Artistas do Bem” and they use social networks to mobilize fans and also demonstrate during concerts to draw attention to the cause. In Alok’s opinion, public figures have an even greater responsibility in their actions and speeches because they end up being references. “No, why [artistas] they are special beings, but because they have greater exposure to their lives and work. With social networks, the distances between artists and fans have decreased, we establish almost a direct channel.
