AI for WhatsApp arrives in Brazil and transcribes audios – 07/19/2023 – Tech

The artificial intelligence platform for WhatsApp LuzIA arrived in Brazil this Wednesday (19). The service founded in Spain can now be called by calling +55 11 97255-3036.

The platform responds to requests via plain text through ChatGPT’s language model, GPT-3.5, and creates images from Stable Diffusion generative AI. LuzIA also transcribes audios of up to 10 minutes using Whisper, from OpenAI, the creator of ChatGPT.

The WhatsApp platform was already available for any country where the messaging application works. LuzIA is also on Telegram.

The main novelty, according to the chief executive of LuzIA, Álvaro Higes, is the ability to have the initial contact in Portuguese.

To prevent fraud, Luzia’s original account has a verified number on WhatsApp, with a green seal next to her name.

According to the company, commands sent by users are processed anonymously by artificial intelligence and used for training without the person’s name and phone number.

To activate the transcription function, just send an audio to LuzIA —the response with the text content is automatic. The functionality is useful, for example, to listen to spoken messages during meetings.

Imaging is triggered by the word “imagine.” LuzIA takes a moment to create the requested illustration and then sends a file — the low-fidelity image comes with the AI’s seal of origin.

The platform is available in 40 countries and has gathered 3.5 million users, according to the company itself.
