Elizângela died in Guapimirim (RJ) this Friday (3), at the age of 68. According to the city council of the city where she lived, the actress was rescued by the Mobile Emergency Care Service (Samu) and was admitted to the José Rabello de Mello Municipal Hospital with cardiorespiratory arrest. Despite attempted resuscitation both during the transfer and at the unit, she did not survive.

“The Municipality of Guapimirim regrets the death of the renowned actress. This is the second time that the municipality’s health system has served Elizangela. At first, Elizangela was admitted to the unit with serious respiratory problems, and after a few weeks, she was discharged from the unit”, records a note released by the municipality.

The actress’s other hospitalization had occurred in 2022, due to respiratory sequelae caused by Covid-19. Elizângela publicly expressed her position against vaccination, the benefits of which are scientifically proven.

The actress participated in highly rated soap operas produced by Rede Globo, which hired her in the mid-1960s.
