Abin will have five women directors

The new Abin structure, endorsed by President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, will have four new women in charge of the agency’s boards, government sources told the blog. All of them are the agency’s intelligence officers (see names below). A woman was already in charge of an area. The number of women is unprecedented. All departments will undergo changes and seven new directorates will have changes of command, placing Abin employees at the heart of the agency’s decision-making power. There was dissatisfaction among the agency’s employees due to the concentration of powers in people coming from outside, such as the federal police officers brought in, especially during Alexandre Ramagem’s management as general director of Abin in the Bolsonaro government. Understand what Abin is and what it is for. The following areas will change: Internal Intelligence Department; Department of External Intelligence, which will have Ana Martins Ribeiro in charge; Research and Development Center for Communications Security; Operations department; Counterintelligence Department, which will be headed by Cristina Célia Rodrigues; Department of Administration and Logistics, which will be headed by Nilza Yamazaki; and Intelligence School, which will be under the command of Ana Cruz Pereira da Silva. Lula decided to keep the current general director Luiz Fernando Corrêa at the helm of Abin.
