The mayor of Manaus, David Almeida, sanctioned, this Sunday night (28), the law that creates the Municipal Culture Plan (PMC).

The project, which has been a demand for over 70 years by the artistic class, brings together a set of guidelines, strategies and goals to guide public authorities in the formulation of cultural policies for the next ten years, in addition to opening doors for fundraising and investments in the cultural area.

The law signing ceremony took place on the Murilo Rayol stage, located at Casa de Praia Zezinho Corrêa, in the Ponta Negra tourist complex, in the western part of the capital.

“The city hall built this plan, it was approved by the Manaus City Council and now it will benefit society as a whole. We are renovating several cultural spaces around the city, such as the Jorge Teixeira amphitheater and we have already delivered the Baixada Fluminense stage, in the Cidade Nova neighborhood. Let’s do the same at Viver Melhor. Our commitment is to do the same as we are doing here, at Casa de Praia, in all areas of the city. We just have to celebrate. Congratulations, Manaus, congratulations to culture”, emphasized Almeida.

The Municipal Culture Plan is one of Mayor David Almeida’s campaign commitments and the missing piece to complete the so-called “CPF” for Culture, an acronym that means: Council, Plan and Fund, representing the basic instances that make up the Municipal Culture System. Culture, a management model presented by the National Culture System.
