The president of Finep (Financier of Studies and Projects), Celso Pansera, should be elected president of ABDE (Brazilian Development Association), which brings together 30 public and private development institutions. His name was suggested by Aloizio Mercadante, president of the BNDES.

Voting takes place this Wednesday (24). The slate is unique and there is an agreement for the election of the entire slate, according to people who participated in the negotiations.

Pansera, former Minister of Science and Technology in the Dilma Rousseff government, will have two vice-presidents: José Luis Gordon (director of BNDES) and Heraldo Neves Fomento (Paraná).

The board will be composed of Euler Antônio Luz Mathias (Bank of Brazil), Cledir Assisio Magri (Cresol), Wilson Bley Lipski (BRDE), Daniel de Castro Borges (Caixa Econômica Federal), Marcelo Barbosa Saintive (Bandes), Márcia Faria Maia ( AGN) and Ruth Pimentel Mello (BanParaná).

The association is the main vehicle of the National Development System which, until the third quarter of 2022, registered more than BRL 5 trillion in assets, 37% of the National Financial System.

Microenterprises were the ones that carried out the most operations. They totaled BRL 325 billion in credit last year.

Pronampe, a credit program launched in the midst of the pandemic with guarantees from the Union, was the flagship of loans. Between June and December 2022 alone, there were almost 460,000 operations totaling R$36.8 billion in credit.
