Fight pivot in the semi, Wesley Pomba has provoked Inter other times
[ad_1]
Wesley was born at Grêmio, a club he has defended since childhood. At just 13 years old, he was one of the penalty takers in the 2016 Efipan (Encontro de Futebol Infantil Panamericano) final. Tricolor beat Colorado 4-2 after a draw in normal time and took the cup.
Provoking the biggest rival is nothing new either. Still for the Gremista base, he scored a goal against Inter in a classic for the Copa Santiago and imitated Saci in the celebration, the rival’s mascot.
Wesley Pomba’s nickname is due to his fear of birds. The nickname predates his passage through Grêmio. During childhood training, a ball was kicked near a group of pigeons, he was tasked with looking for it, got scared and ran away.
He is out of the decision against Grêmio for contractual reasons. As he is on loan, he cannot play against his club. At the age of 20, Wesley Pomba already defended CRB and Pelotas in loans granted by Tricolor before going to Caxias.
