Flamengo defeats Fluminense and approaches the Guanabara Cup title in the Carioca Championship

With goals from strikers Pedro and Cebolinha, Flamengo reached 24 points in the table

Rio de Janeiro – RJ) – With defensive security, Flamengo once again did not concede goals in the Campeonato Carioca. On Sunday afternoon (25), Rubro-Negro scored two goals against Fluminense, at Maracanã, and won 2-0. The goals were scored by Pedro and Everton Cebolinha. Tite’s team reached 24 points and only needs a draw to be undefeated champions of the Guanabara Cup.

Fernando Diniz, aiming for the match against LDU, on Thursday (29), for the return game of the Recopa, decided to spare some players from the clash. Defender Felipe Melo, midfielder Paulo Henrique Ganso and striker Keno were not listed for the match.

The second goal of the classic came from Everton Cebolinha. In a magnetic exchange of passes between De La Cruz and Arrascaeta, the ball reached Pedro’s foot and the number 9 passed it to Cebolinha to finish spectacularly. Fábio, Fluminense’s goalkeeper, still touched the ball, but it died inside the goal.

In the last round of the Guanabara Cup, before the knockout stage, Flamengo will face Madureira, on Saturday (2). Fluminense, in turn, faces Botafogo, the following day.
