The PT bench in the Chamber of Deputies is expected to meet on February 5th in Brasília to outline its strategy for action in 2024, the year of municipal elections.
Historically, the House is emptied during the electoral process, which is why parliamentarians estimate that the first semester’s agenda will be more intense.
The idea of the meeting at the beginning of the legislative year is to discuss the deputies’ priorities, as well as to discuss the bench’s performance in relation to the party and the government and the current political situation in Brazil.
“The challenge of the seminar is to identify what agenda interests the bench in this first semester, regardless of the government’s agenda”, federal deputy Odair Cunha (PT-MG), who will be leader of the PT in the Chamber next year, tells the Panel .
Cunha will replace Zeca Dirceu (PT-PR) in the post. He states that one of the bench’s priorities will be the consideration of the Executive’s projects that will regulate tax reform.
