Two Brazilian restaurants are among the top 100 in the world according to The World’s 50 Best Restaurants, considered the Oscar of gastronomy. The extended list, which goes from positions 51 to 100, was released this Thursday (8).
In it, there are only two representatives from Brazil: Lasai (58th) and Oteque (76th), both in Rio de Janeiro. The ranking from 1st to 50th will be announced on June 20th at a ceremony in Spain.
Led by chef Alberto Landgraf, Oteque ranked 47th on last year’s list. With the new ranking, the house lost 29 positions. The cuisine, which highlights vegetables and seafood, has two Michelin stars.
Lasai, by chef Rafael Costa e Silva, rose in relation to the last edition, when it appeared in 78th place. The house, which works with a single tasting menu filled with national products, also has a Michelin star.
