3 Corações launches gourmet coffee line with traceability – 11/07/2023 – Café na Prensa

3 Corações, which has invested heavily in the gourmet market, launches another line of specialty coffees.
“Rituais Cafés Especiais 85+” will have – as the name suggests – only coffees with at least 85 points on the sensory evaluation scale defined by the SCA (Specialty Coffee Association).
How the Coffee in the Press showed, the gourmet coffee market is growing at a much faster pace than the traditional one. As a result, the main companies in the sector are rushing to launch products to meet this demand.
The line is curated by specialist Silvio Leite and will have versions with four sensory profiles: chocolate, red fruits, dried fruits and exotic.
It is made from grains purchased by 3 Corações directly from producers. Normally, large companies – including 3 Corações – buy coffees from intermediaries, which can compromise the traceability of the product – that is, the company does not know exactly which farms produced the coffees.
With this direct purchase, the company wants the line to be entirely traceable.
This is a growing concern in the industry. Knowing exactly which farm the coffee is being harvested from allows us to monitor whether that producer is complying with the requirements of good environmental and social practices.
The main companies in the sector have been increasingly charged for this.
The products will be available in supermarkets from December and will cost R$24.90 (250 g package). In addition to already ground coffee, there will be versions in grains, capsules and the drip coffee model, to be filtered directly into the cup.
