Zeca Baleiro transforms EP into the album ‘Mambo Só’

But she changed her mind during the process and turned the EP into an album after submitting five singles between May 19th and June 16th. The album is called Mambo only and is scheduled for release on July 28th. With a cover that displays an illustration by Maranhão artist Isabel Nascimento, the album Mambo only has 14 tracks composed of 10 songs and four vignettes. “It was supposed to be an EP with a maximum of six songs, but I tried things out with several partner producers and, when I saw it, I had material for an album”, justifies Baleiro, explaining the change in the nature of the album. Baleiro shares the production of the Mambo album with the artist’s band alone. The technical sheet mixes frequent partners – such as Érico Theobaldo, Pedro Cunha, Sérgio Fouad, Swami Jr. and Tuco Marcondes – with new collaborators, such as the multi-instrumentalist Bianca Godói and the rock guitarists Ricardo Vignini and Zé Helder (members of the duo Moda de Rock). Mambo only succeeds the album Canções d’além-mar (2020) in Baleiro’s solo discography, but, between one title and another, there was Naus (2022), an album signed by the singer-songwriter with Vinicius Cantuária.
