According to the survey, the center-west of São Paulo has 2,442,773 residents, 5.04% more than the 2,325,429 registered in 2010. In the region, Bauru remains the most populous city, with 379,146 inhabitants. The population of Bauru is greater than that of three of the 26 Brazilian capitals.
