Vivo readjusts cell phone plan prices by 11% in February – 02/10/2023 – Market

Telefônica Brasil, which owns Vivo, raised entry prices for its monthly control and postpaid plans by 11% in early February.
The information was disclosed by analysts at JPMorgan, in a report that tracks repricing of telephone operators in the country, and confirmed by Telefônica Brasil.
The entry offer for the control plan was BRL 57 per month, which means premiums of 12% and 27% against rivals TIM and Claro, respectively, wrote analysts led by Marcelo Santos, in a report dated Thursday ( 9). The increase is compared to January 31st.
Vivo’s postpaid floor rose to R$122 reais, which puts the price of the modality 22% above that offered by TIM and 11% more expensive than Claro, according to the report.
“We see this movement as positive for the sector, especially considering that after the migration of Oi’s base and the reduction of ICMS, most price changes were negative, including some promotional movements”, said the analysts.
According to the bank, TIM and Claro kept prices unchanged in early February.
