Virada Sustentável Manaus opens call for selection of entrepreneurs and volunteers

Manaus (AM) – Virada Sustentável Manaus is selecting activities to make up the cultural program for the 9th edition of the festival, which will take place on the 4th and 5th of November with the theme “Virada da Amazônia”, offering more than 50 free activities in favor of environmental conservation . Considered the largest sustainability event in Latin America, Virada Sustentável Manaus is held by the Fundação Amazônia Sustentável (FAS), co-organized by Virada Sustentável Nacional, supported by the Creative Council, which has more than 60 Amazonian civil society organizations, as well as volunteers .

The selection proposal is to bring together actors who share the desire to present an inspiring vision in defense of the Amazon forest by 2030, based on the theme “What does the Amazon and the Amazon people have to say to Brazil and the world?”.

Activity registrations are aimed at civil society organizations, companies, public bodies, cultural collectives, social movements, schools, universities, artists, NGOs and others.

Activities related to dance, circus, culture, debate, parade and gastronomy, for example, can be registered. The main requirement is to be aligned with at least one of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations (UN).

The coordinator of Virada Sustentável Manaus and responsible for the FAS Sustainable Cities Agenda, Cristine Rescarolli, emphasizes that the cultural program will involve artistic activities and mobilization actions to raise public awareness about the importance of respect for the Amazon and its residents.

FAS Fair

The traditional Fair of the Sustainable Amazon Foundation, the “FAS Fair”, will also hold a special edition at Virada Sustentável Manaus. To this end, the institution is looking for 90 green and creative economy entrepreneurs to showcase their businesses at the event, which will be held at Largo São Sebastião, located on Rua Costa Azevedo, Centro – Zona Sul neighborhood, on the 4th and 5th of November.

The selection is open to businesses from various segments, including crafts, fashion, geek, perfumery, jewelry and literature. When registering, interested parties must choose the space that best suits their products: Varieties, Gastronomy and Green. Registration for entrepreneurs closes next Monday, the 23rd. The results will be announced by email on Friday, October 27th.
