Manaus (AM) – The City of Manaus continues with the objective of keeping the epidemiological scenario against Covid-19 under control, offering immunization agents that prevent serious forms of the disease in 74 units of the municipal health network, from Wednesday to Friday, 25th to 27th of October.
The units of the Municipal Health Department (Semsa) operate both during regular hours, from 8 am to 5 pm, and extended hours, from 7 am to 7 pm or until 9 pm. The addresses and respective opening hours of health establishments can be checked via the link: bit.ly/localvacinacovid19
The municipal undersecretary for Health Management, Djalma Coelho, emphasizes that immunobiologicals against Covid-19 must be received by people from 6 months of age, as they represent reinforced protection against the Sars-Cov-2 virus, a respiratory infection which still represents a health risk and can generate complications that can lead people to hospitalization or even death.
“We continue to say that, in addition to protecting themselves, each vaccinated person contributes greatly to protecting others, the vaccine interrupts a large part of the transmission of Covid-19. We must always remember that the vaccine made it possible to resume social life and, to this day, is essential for keeping the infection under control and ensuring the health and well-being of the population”,
adds Djalma Coelho.
The undersecretary explains that the 74 units that offer the vaccination service are strategically distributed throughout the capital.
“To receive the initial doses or update your vaccination schedule, simply go to a health unit closest to your home or work, and present an official identification document with photo, CPF or Unified Health System (SUS) Card. . It is important to add that children under 17 must be with their parents or guardians”,
emphasizes Djalma.
Vaccination of children takes place in specific units, 14 of which are aimed at immunizing babies aged 6 months to 4 years, and 35 for children aged 5 to 11 years. People aged 12 and over can go to any of the 74 units that offer the service. The complete vaccination schedule includes the 1st and 2nd doses of the primary schedule, plus a booster dose. Users can check their vaccination status and find out which dose they should receive by consulting the Imuniza Manaus online platform, accessed at imuniza.manaus.am.gov.br.
