Vaccination against Influenza available to the public from 6 months

Manaus has 171 immunization rooms available
Manaus (AM) – Manaus City Hall calls on the population in general to protect themselves against Influenza by seeking one of the 171 immunization rooms of the Municipal Health Secretariat (Semsa). The municipality still has 78,000 remaining doses from the 25th National Influenza Vaccination Campaign, carried out from 3/27 to 5/31, for the priority groups defined by the Ministry of Health.
Data from Semsa’s Immunization Management indicate that 395,064 doses of the vaccine against influenza were applied in the capital until last Friday, 6/23, which represents 69.58% of vaccination coverage.
Following the guidelines of the National Campaign, Semsa initially offered the immunizer to priority groups made up of children aged six months to five years, pregnant women, elderly people aged one and over, indigenous peoples, teachers, puerperal women (women in the postpartum period) and health workers, among others.
Another ten groups in the campaign were also listed: people with comorbidities; disabled people; security and rescue forces; Armed forces; truck drivers; collective transport workers; port workers; prison system officials; population deprived of liberty; and adolescents in socio-educational measures.

The Ministry of Health established the goal of vaccinating 90% of the campaign’s priority public, which in the capital is estimated at 567,752 people, including 194,771 children aged 6 months to 5 years old; 195,068 seniors over 60 years of age; 69,479 indigenous people; 56,618 health workers; 27,760 pregnant women; 4,563 postpartum women; and 19,493 public and private school teachers.
Of the estimated total number of children able to receive the vaccine, 141,777 were protected, corresponding to 72.79% of the stipulated target, while 21,584 pregnant women received the vaccine, which corresponds to 77.75% of the campaign’s target audience. Elderly people aged 60 and over fulfilled the task of protecting themselves well, with a total of 144,664 people vaccinated, making up 74.16% of the goal.
Teachers stood out with 99.39% of the public vaccinated, followed by puerperal women (women in the postpartum period), with 109.91% of the immunized group. Among health workers, 85% of the campaign’s objective was achieved. The group of indigenous peoples, whose estimate is 69,479 people, had 14,315 people vaccinated, corresponding to 20% of the target.
The general population can seek the immune system in health units that are open both during regular hours, from 8 am to 5 pm, and during extended hours, from 8 am to 8 pm, from Monday to Friday, and on Saturdays, in the nine units that are open from 8am to 12pm. To receive the vaccine, simply present an identification document with a photo, CPF or National Health Card and the vaccination card.
