University Scholarship Program launches notice with more than 34 thousand vacancies in Manaus

Manaus (AM) – The mayor of Manaus, David Almeida, launched the new notice for the 2024 University Scholarship Program with more than 34 thousand opportunities to access 15 private Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), for students from low-income families, this Friday (20), at Casarão da Inovação Cassina, Centro. This brings the number of scholarships available under the current administration to 152,676.

“I believe that Manaus City Hall has the largest municipal university scholarship program. There are 34 thousand opportunities that we will offer, and we already have approximately 20 thousand who are already studying. I’m talking about around 55 thousand people in the city of Manaus, who benefit from the University Grant, Postgraduate Grant, Language Grant, training and qualification”,

emphasized Almeida.

Since January 2021, the University Scholarship Program has made it possible to realize the dream of more than 15 thousand people who entered a private college, with discounts of 50%, 75% and 100%.

For the vice-mayor and chief municipal secretary of the Civil House, Marcos Rotta, the Bolsa Universidade Program represents the humanization of access to higher education.

“It is with great satisfaction that we launched the Bolsa Universidade with more than 34 thousand opportunities for qualification in higher education, making access to college more equal and fair for everyone, being yet another action by Mayor David’s administration, which is so concerned with education and the development of the Manauara population”,

highlighted Rotta.

With the democratization of access to higher education and a second language, more than 270 thousand opportunities to enter private institutions were offered by the City of Manaus in 1,000 days of the David Almeida administration.

“As a fundamental right, which is the right to education, the city hall makes its contribution in offering families, low-income people, who would not be able to attend college at a higher level and have the opportunity to be subsequently inserted into the market of work. And there are already more than 350 thousand people benefiting from the Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Language Grant programs in the city of Manaus. We also want to contribute to society and to the administration of Mayor David Almeida”,

emphasized the head of the Municipal Secretariat of Administration, Planning and Management (Semad), Ebenezer Bezerra.

Notice

The notice for consultation will be available from 10pm this Friday, 20th, in the Official Gazette of the Municipality (DOM). The document will contain all the information necessary for candidates. Registration can be made from 10/25 to 11/1. The scholarships are for 74 higher-level courses, 38 of which are bachelor’s degrees, six are bachelor’s degrees and 30 are technology courses.

“It will be widely publicized on our networks, on @Bolsauniversidade on Instagram and on Manaus City Hall platforms. There are 880 100% scholarships and it is worth highlighting that the 75% scholarships, which are 6,300, and the 50% scholarships, all of them are at zero cost to the coffers of the municipality of Manaus, this is very important, this shows credibility of the administration of Mayor David Almeida, the credibility of our programs, so that these 15 private educational institutions embark with us in this very successful partnership for our city”,

emphasized Júnior Nunes, director of the School of Municipal Public Service and Socio-educational Inclusion (Espi).
