In the not-so-distant future, parents traveling with young children will have an entire theme park dedicated just to them: Universal Kids Resort, a new project by Universal Destinations & Experiences in the city of Frisco, about 40 km from Dallas, Texas.
According to what little has already been released about the project, it will have several immersive themed areas based on characters and stories that are already successful in other Universal parks. The company has not yet specified which ones, but it operates attractions based on franchises such as Marvel, Minions, Harry Potter, Simpsons, Jurrasic Park and Transformers.
“Universal Kids Resort will inspire children’s unbridled creativity through imagination, discovery and, most importantly, play,” said Molly Murphy, president of Universal Creative. “We are designing the resort so that children and families can feel the thrill of being physically immersed in their most beloved stories and characters.”
According to a company statement, the new park will have a themed hotel, “lush green environments with a distinct view, feel and scale, designed specifically for younger children” and space for expansion in the future — the project’s land has a total of 392 thousand square meters.
Universal Kids Resort will be Universal’s seventh theme park, which already has three parks in Orlando (one of them water), one in Los Angeles, one in Osaka, Japan and another in Sentosa, Singapore.
