On Twitter, a user joked: “41 cents increase in gasoline and blackout. If your day is complicated, imagine that of the Minister of Mines and Energy”. This Tuesday, (15) Petrobras announced that the price of gasoline at the state-owned refineries will rise to R$ 2.93; diesel will increase from R$ 0.78 per liter to R$ 3.80. These are the first increases since the implementation of the company’s new commercial policy, which abandoned the concept of import parity in May.

In Recife, while some people claim to have witnessed light spikes, others complain about the lack of energy for more than an hour. One resident’s remark explains the situation well: “Half of my neighborhood has power, the other half doesn’t,” he wrote on Twitter.
