Some of the biggest pharmaceutical companies in the country started to move to send medicines to the victims of the rains on the coast, but the list of products that are scarce is still long and it is difficult to get them there. There is also concern about transport, which needs to be done by trucks or helicopters.

Among the products that need to arrive more urgently are morphine, analgesics, anxiolytics and hypertensives. Pharmaceuticals, through Sindusfarma, received a list with names such as tramadol, wavesterone, dolantine, hydralazine and diazepam, whose demand for service teams is still high.

This Monday (20th), the pharmaceutical company EMS offered funds, and the president of Sindusfarma, Nelson Mussolini, will help raise money from other companies in the sector. “Sindusfarma is mobilizing together with associated pharmaceutical industries. We need to help the population to try to reduce suffering”, he says. The list of items needed includes needles, gloves, and splints.

There are also obstacles to taking donations of basic food baskets and hygiene products. The logistics must be done with the help of JSL.

According to Setpesp (Union of State Passenger Transport Companies), bus companies linked to the entity will also make their vehicles available to the authorities to transport donations and materials to the affected regions.

The death toll reached 44 due to the rains. The total was updated on the morning of this Tuesday (21). Seven bodies (two adult men, two adult women and three children) have already been identified and released for burial, according to the state government.
