Visitors can find new places to enjoy the “land of the waterfall”
President Figueiredo (AM) – More than 150 waterfalls, caves and caverns make the municipality of Presidente Figueiredo (117 kilometers from Manaus) considered the “land of waterfalls”. According to the owner of the Juju Tour travel agency, Judeilson Trindade, the company @amazonia_jujutour specializes in unconventional waterfalls. He claims that many waterfalls are on private property and are still being discovered.
”When I migrated to tourism I realized the need, the lack of something different, because everyone did the basics. Presidente Figueiredo has 144 waterfalls open for visitation. And then, I thought that there are travelers who want more days in the Amazon. So, today my agency has a seven-day itinerary, only in Presidente Figueiredo. And, every day, the visitor gets to know a different waterfall”,
said Judeilson Trindade.
Judeilson explains that unconventional waterfalls are destinations that are not included in most tourist itineraries, or that have recently been discovered.
The State Tourism Company of Amazonas (Amazonastur) emphasizes that most waterfalls are on trails in isolated areas and with a certain degree of difficulty, therefore, it is mandatory to hire a guide or accredited company, the guide can be hired at Tourist Service Center (CAT), at the entrance of Presidente Figueiredo. The CAT contact is (92) 3324-2929. Registered and regularized companies can be found on the Cadastur website (cadastur.Tourism.gov.br).
Check out some of the waterfalls that fit the unconventional profile, listed by Amazonastur: Cachoeira Indiana Jones; Irá Circuit, (which includes the Tree Waterfall, Águas Claras Waterfall, Segredo Waterfall and Irá Waterfall); Bot Waterfall; Salto do Ipy Circuit (which includes the Salto do Ipy Waterfall and Ponta da Agulha Viewpoint); Sussuarana Waterfall; Catarino Waterfall; Bromeliad Waterfall; Seven Falls Waterfall; Blue River Waterfall; Sovaco da Cobra Waterfall; Circuito do Careca (which includes Cachoeira da Kira, Cachoeira da Ladeira, Cachoeira do Curumim and Cachoeira do Índio) and Cachoeira Sucuriju.
