The inspiration comes from Serra Gaúcha, one of the main tourist centers in southern Brazil, and from the picturesque villages of the Alpine regions in Europe. Real estate projects developed by groups from Santa Catarina want to give a new look to Campo Alegre, a small city in the Northeast of the state, with just over 12,500 inhabitants, 870 meters above sea level.

The intention is that, in the long term, the city becomes a kind of “Gramado Santa Catarina” and attracts more public from surrounding cities, such as Balneário Camboriú, Blumenau, Curitiba, Jaraguá do Sul and Joinville. The “calling card” are the milder temperatures and the region’s natural attractions, such as trails, waterfalls, and peaks of up to 1,500 meters in altitude.

One of the biggest initiatives in the city, which involves an investment of approximately R$60 million, is Paraíso das Araucárias. The project is being developed by the CRH Group, owner of the multinational Tigre, which operates in the construction plastics segment in 40 countries.

The project covers an area of ​​600 thousand square meters and is located in an urban area. The development is crossed by the city’s main street, which connects the SC-418 highway and the Paraíso waterfall, a 60-meter-high waterfall.

The initiative includes residences, small buildings, public spaces and a residential condominium and should be developed in two phases. The first, whose pre-launch took place in July, will focus on the implementation of small residential buildings and public spaces. The expectation is to obtain the licenses by the first quarter of 2024.

The construction of a linear park approximately one kilometer long and more than 30 thousand square meters is also planned, as well as a square measuring 17 thousand square meters.

The president of the CRH Group, Felipe Hansen, believes that this infrastructure will support the establishment of Campo Alegre as a new mountain and mountain tourist destination, with interactive experiences that value nature and the city’s economy.

“The initiative proposes to be a new meeting point, giving life to the square with a leisure area, gastronomy, services and entertainment for the city. We want Campo Alegre to find its own identity as a tourist destination”, says Hansen.

The second stage, expected to be launched in the first quarter of 2024, envisages a gated residential condominium in an area of ​​254 thousand square meters, of which 84 thousand square meters will be occupied. The remainder will be preserved.

Another initiative is being developed by businessman Vanderlei Palhano, from the Ascensus Group, specialized in foreign trade. The project is located in an area of ​​250 thousand square meters on the banks of SC-418, close to the city.

One of the project’s “entry points” is a typical Italian restaurant, which is currently in operation. It also envisages the implementation of cabins, a guesthouse, an events center with capacity for 400 people and a high-end residential condominium, with 21 lots for the construction of houses.

According to Palhano, the objective goes beyond real estate. “We also intend to offer experiences to visitors and residents of the project”, he says. One of the partnerships being studied is with winemakers from the town of Barolo, in Piedmont (Northern Italy), to disseminate the region’s wines.
