Until the beginning of the week, the presidential carnival agenda was still unknown, mainly in the offices of the Governor of Rio de Janeiro, Claudio Castro, and in that of Eduardo Paes, mayor of Rio.
There was doubt as to whether Lula would return to the Sambódromo and a dispute arose between the government boxes to welcome him and the first lady. Janja was even honored this year by Imperatriz Leopoldinense, who made her the school’s godmother.
Behind the scenes there was a mobilization for Lula to attend the parades of the Special Group in Rio, which ended up not happening. The last time he was at Sapucaí was in 2009, alongside Dona Marisa. The two posed for photos alongside Sérgio Cabral and Eduardo Paes, governor and mayor at the time.
The last time a president of the republic was at the Sambódromo in Rio was in 2011, when Dilma Rousseff, who was in power, was in the same space as Madonna.
