*) We spoke a few times here at 15 minutes that the tax reform approved (and already enacted) in 2023 dealt with changes in consumption taxes here in Brazil.
Well: now, the Federal Government is preparing the second stage of the change in the system, which aims to change income taxation rules.
Among the main changes that the new phase of tax reform should foresee is the taxation of dividends. Furthermore, there is an expectation that the government’s proposal will establish income tax exemption by 2026 for those earning up to R$5,000 per month. This, in fact, was a promise from President Lula (PT).
