Telegram also asked again that, if Moraes does not revoke the fine, that at least the amount be reduced, as the company would have complied with the blocking of other channels that were also targets of the same court decision. In the appeal, Telegram claimed that the count of days on which the decision was not complied with was done incorrectly. In addition, he argued that the decision lost its object, since Moraes has already released the reactivation of the new parliamentarian’s social networks. The clash between the STF and the platform began because, after the blocking order, the company asked for the need to completely remove the channel to be reconsidered, asking Moraes to point out only the specific content that he considered illegal. The minister, however, applied the fine. He understood that there had been “intentional non-compliance” on the part of the company, which would indicate “agreement with the continuation of the commission of crimes” on the part of Ferreira. The new deputy is suspected of delivering “hate speeches, subversion of order and encouragement to break institutional and democratic normality, materialized through the dissemination of false and fraudulent news and facts”.
