Teatro Amazonas receives shows from the Jazz Festival

Between shows, Amazonas Band shares the stage with great talents from the state and world jazz reference guests

Manaus (AM) – Jazz lovers will have the opportunity to praise two nights of free concerts at Teatro Amazonas, this Monday and Tuesday, July 24th and 25th. The initiative is part of the Amazonas Green Jazz Festival program and will bring together regional artists, who are references in jazz culture, including Ismael Nascimento, Márcia Siqueira, Miquéias Pinheiro, Anderson Farias and Aldenor Honorato.

The first to perform today (24th), at 8 pm, is Ismael Nascimento and his Trio from Manaus. Ismael is a guitarist, composer and educator. Graduated in Classical Guitar from the State University of Amazonas (UEA) and former member of the Amazonas Band, the artist won first place in the jazz guitar competition at the Wilson Center Guitar Festival (USA), was runner-up in the Dreamcatcher guitar competition (USA) and semifinalist in the 3rd International Jarek Śmietana Jazz Guitar Competition. Ismael studied Jazz Guitar at the University of Southern California (Los Angeles), where he studied with Bruce Forman, Frank Potenza, Bob Mintzer, Richard Smith, Tim Kobza, among others.

The second attraction today, at 9:30 pm, is the host group of the festival and with more than 20 years of career, the Amazonas Band, which will receive special guests on the stage of the Teatro Amazonas: the Amazonian diva, the singer Márcia Siqueira, and the Brazilian saxophonist, based in the USA, Felipe Salles. Márcia is the first female toada lifter for Boi-Bumbá Garantido and a great regional voice. And Salles has become a world reference and teaches at the University of Massachusetts, the most important music university on the planet.

On Tuesday (25), the schedule brings together three more young and promising stars. Who starts the night, at 20h, is Miquéias Pinheiro. With two CDs recorded and a unique atmosphere, he and his quintet will present the sounds that influenced his journey, especially pop jazz. Miquéias has performed at several festivals, such as Brazilian Day and clubs in New York.

Marked by jazz and classical music, the second attraction is Anderson Farias, at 9 pm. Pianist graduated from the University of the State of Amazonas (UEA) and one of the main names of the new generation, Anderson has compositions that carry a creative process, inspired by sources such as Brad Mehldau and Russel Ferrante.

To end Tuesday night, at 10 pm, the public will enjoy the show by Aldenor Honorato and his quartet. With a guitar in one hand and his unpublished compositions in the other, manauara is a reality on the rise in the jazz circuit. Member of the Amazonas Band, Honorato has performed with big names in national and international jazz.
