Locations return to activities after maintenance period
The cultural spaces Teatro Amazonas and Palacete Provincial reopen for visits after a period of break, necessary for site maintenance and technical adjustments. Activities return normally this Tuesday (16) to the Theater, and on Thursday (18) to the Provincial Palace.
The main cultural and architectural symbol of the state, the Teatro Amazonas, located in Largo de São Sebastião, in the center of Manaus, keeps much of the state’s history alive, being in addition to being a museum, it is also a grand show house.
To visit the space, the public can come from Tuesday to Saturday, from 9am to 5pm, and on Sunday, from 9am to 1pm, without the need for prior booking. Entrance to the visit can be purchased for R$20.00, with R$10.00 for half price. People born in the state of Amazonas are exempt from payment, upon presentation of the document to prove their place of birth.
As for the Provincial Palace, located in Praça Heliodoro Balbi, Centro, visiting is entirely free. The cultural space opens its doors from Monday to Saturday (except Wednesdays), from 9am to 3pm. There is no need to schedule an appointment.
Three museums of different languages operate on site: the Image and Sound Museum (Misam), the Amazonas Numismatic Museum, and the State Pinacoteca. In addition, the space has several fixed and temporary exhibitions.
The director of the Department of Museums of the Secretariat of Culture and Creative Economy, Aline Santana, invites the public to attend the exhibitions currently open. “We continue with the Silva da Selva exhibition, which runs until January 31st. We also have a temporary exhibition celebrating the 123rd anniversary of the Numismatic Museum. They are really cool themes, they are worth attending,” she said.
