Tax burden: Brazil has the worst return for citizens – 10/19/2023 – What tax is this

Certainly, our Federal Constitution of 1988 can really be called “Citizen”, because it brought the best in the world, in terms of the promise of social rights, being:

Social rights include education, health, food, work, housing, transportation, leisure, security, social security, protection of maternity and childhood, assistance to the destitute, in accordance with this Constitution.

All of this is very beautiful, but paper accepts everything, and it is one thing to write and another to fulfill the written promises.

According to the IRBES (Index of Return to the Well-being of Society), created by the IBPT (Brazilian Institute of Planning and Taxation), which was created from the combination of the tax burden X GDP and the HDI (Human Development Index), these values ​​were weighed by their importance, among the 30 countries with the highest tax burden in the world, in ten editions, our country has always been the “last” (last placed), that is, with the worst return to citizens, from investments intended improving the quality of life of Brazilians, given the significant tax collection.

The main reason for this vexatious situation in our country is the failure to direct the resources collected towards more important objectives such as the rights guaranteed by our Greater Law.

But, combined with this, which is the main reason for this article, is the high taxation carried out by the government on items necessary for the items described in the Constitution, as we exemplify in some below:

The conclusion that can be reached, from what has been stated here, is that the government, especially the federal government, by overly taxing the items necessary for the activities it promised in the CF, such as social rights, makes the prices of these products and services more expensive. for the final consumer, and thus the population in such need does not have access to them.

The title of this article must therefore be clarified, because, by acting in this way, the government is shooting itself in the foot and helping to make the constitutionally promised objectives unfeasible.
