The Government of São Paulo emerged excited from a meeting between Tarcísio de Freitas and the chairman of the AstraZeneca board, Leif Johansson, at the Economic Forum, in Davos, this Wednesday (18).

According to reports from those who followed the event, the new governor opened the meeting by thanking the laboratory for its role during the pandemic, especially in the vaccine against Covid.

The gesture draws attention among the choices he has been making in contrast to the Bolsonarist repertoire that helped elect him. After he took office, Tarcísio has been asking for pacification gestures from the three Powers.

The governor also proposed a partnership between AstraZeneca and the Butantan Institute for the production of new drugs and suggested approximation in disease prevention programs developed by the company, which could integrate the actions of the São Paulo Secretary of Health.

According to the government, the executive stated that the pharmaceutical company seeks to become zero carbon and invited Tarcísio de Freitas to participate in an event on reforestation in the first half.
