The governor of São Paulo, Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicans), said this Monday (30) that the former Minister of Economy Paulo Guedes will chair an economic council that will be created in the state.

“We are going to set up a council with the state government and we are going to have three top economists there, some specialists in some areas that are important. And Paulo Guedes will not only be part of this council, he will chair this council, ”said the governor in an interview with Rádio Jovem Pan.

“I will not give up a person as talented and as genius as Paulo Guedes, who faced this horrible crisis that we went through and managed to get Brazil through, come out on the other side”, added Tarcísio.

Guedes’ name was quoted for the command of the São Paulo Treasury Department. However, the position was held by Samuel Kinoshita, a former advisor to Guedes.
