TAP expands flights between Brazil and Portugal – 03/03/2023 – Panel SA

TAP will expand the frequency of departures from Brazil, with six new weekly flights to Lisbon in the peak period of the European summer.

According to the company, São Paulo will have 20 flights per week, two more than the current level. Destinations such as Belém, Belo Horizonte, Brasília and Salvador will have one more weekly flight each.

The increase in frequency starts on March 26 and runs until October, according to Carlos Antunes, general director of TAP for Latin America.

The company also intends to set the number of flights from São Paulo to Porto at three per week – the number varied depending on the time of year.

“This means that there was enough demand and that this is the way for us to continue investing in Porto as a final destination or as a route from São Paulo”, says Antunes.

With the new changes, the company now has 80 flights a week departing from Brazil, which represent 93% of TAP’s pre-pandemic level.

The company presented the changes to the president of Embratur, Marcelo Freixo, at an event in Portugal this Thursday (2).
