Manaus (AM) – Professionals from different areas of science indicate that activities related to nature and a greater connection with the environment are fundamental to preserving people’s balance, health and well-being. The beneficial influence of the natural environment on well-being, both individual and collective, is widely recognized by experts. In the post-pandemic scenario, this approach has emerged as a global trend, having an impact on several sectors.

“People started looking for activities that involve nature, such as, for example, growing a plant or making a vegetable garden, which were forgotten over time in the rush of urban life”, says Ana Cristina Cordeiro, biologist at the lot condominium. Quintas de São José do Rio Negro.

In this new global scenario, the concept of biophilia has become stronger, supported by the need to promote human-nature interaction, even in large urban centers. In addition to the human-nature connection, another objective is the conservation of the natural environment. “We worked to have as little impact as possible for the implementation of the project so that the lots are preserved as much as possible.”

To integrate future residents with the project’s objectives, the biologist is preparing a type of booklet with important information about the flora, fauna and other natural elements found in the area to raise awareness of environmental issues.

“And how can we attract people to the proposal to conserve this heritage? With information,” she says. “Because they will enter a different world and the result is that they will feel good and have another idea of ​​what it is to live in harmony with nature.”

According to a technical note from WWF-Brazil (World Wildlife Fund or World Nature Fund), from June 2022, the natural environment affects individual and collective well-being, influencing the state of mind and well-being.

Experience with nature is associated with improvements in several health indices, such as lower blood pressure, reduction in hormones associated with stress, improvement in heart rate, mood, cognitive function, among other aspects.

“On a daily basis, we have a busy work life, several activities to carry out. At Quintas, the proposal is that when you arrive home you have a peaceful environment, a connection with nature. This harmony that brings something more. This is very important for human well-being,”
