Manaus (AM) – The use of advanced technology is one of the pillars of the development of the Brazilian economy, which aims to eliminate carbon emissions by 2050. With the need for adaptation by companies operating in the country, the search for more efficiency and productivity associated with the reduction of natural resources will continue to be discussed in the coming years.

Businesses that rely on sustainable practices from their management to production aimed at the end consumer collaborate with the environment and attract investors who are interested in socio-environmental commitment. After all, this type of partnership generates impacts on different sectors of society, resulting in more jobs, international visibility, new consumer audiences and business consolidation.

Currently, the strongest companies in the Brazilian economic scenario have sustainability sectors that influence management, logistics, production and encourage circularity. This adaptation, which began voluntarily, is close to becoming mandatory after the regulation of the carbon market, which should take place in the coming months. The proposal covers the creation of the Brazilian Trading and Emissions System. As a result, businesses that do not regularize themselves may suffer serious sanctions.

The mechanism establishes that companies that release more than 10 thousand tons of carbon into the atmosphere will be obliged to monitor and report their annual emissions and removals. Failure to comply with the rule imposed by the SBCE provides for punishments such as a fine of R$5 million or 5% of gross revenue. Other sanctions determine the loss of tax benefits and the prohibition of contracting with the public administration for three years.

Considering the needs that impact Brazilian and foreign businesses, MJV Technology & Innovation, a multinational with 25 years of experience in more than 10 countries, which offers digital transformation solutions, consultancy, consumer experience, business analytics and IT services, presents The Zero Carbon Journeywhich will be one of the main allies of Brazilian and international companies in the decarbonization process.

The project brings together a series of services that can be contracted together or separately and help businesses with the measurement and inventory of Greenhouse Gases (GHG), GHG reduction plan and energy efficiency, application of Net zero for neutralization, ESG Report for communication and dissemination of the decarbonization process, in addition to training to multiply knowledge between management in different sectors.

With the implementation of Zero Carbon Journey, the consultancy aims to influence innovation in the economy in favor of the environment. As an advantage, companies will be able to adapt their processes to market needs with sustainable solutions, avoid fines and achieve a good score in the main global financial performance indicators, such as B3’s ISE, BM&FBovespa’s ICO2, Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI), CDP, FTSE4GOOD Index, Luxembourg Green Exchange (LGX), which require transparency and traceability of information on sustainable operations.

“The Zero Carbon Journey has the initial proposal of understanding within an organization the impacts caused by carbon emissions. Thus, the MJV provides a critical and technical analysis pointing out where we can act to reduce emissions and presents a reduction plan according to each company. In this way, we generate efficiency, optimize processes and even reduce costs, with solutions to reduce waste and promote gains. We are talking about reducing environmental impact, improving process efficiency, meeting international standards and the interest of investment funds, being a relevant criterion. Companies that are already working on this topic will come out ahead”,

explained Bruno Temer, circular economy and decarbonization manager at MJV.

Other positive points of contracting the program are facilitating access to investments with ESG criteria, access to international clients and obtaining annual inventories updated with the GHG Protocol guidelines.

MJV is also responsible for all planning and development of GHG reduction plans, which may involve various strategies, such as energy efficiency, waste management planning and logistics optimization of employee transportation, serving all sectors that generate direct impacts on the production and business results.

The company also endorses carbon neutralization, acting as an intermediary for the purchase of credits and compensation, in addition to creating a communication plan with the ESG Report and defining strategies, goals and criteria for the following year.

In this way, contracting companies obtain seals, licenses and certifications to act in accordance with environmental laws and strengthen their commitment to innovative and sustainable development for decarbonization.

Proposal will be presented at fesPIM

Next week, MJV will take its proposal to the Manaus Industrial Pole Sustainability Fair (FESPIM), which takes place between the 7th, 8th and 9th, in Brasília. The meeting promises to bring together leaders from several companies that produce and generate jobs in the Manaus Free Trade Zone (ZFM), exhibitors and experts on the subject, who aim to expand sustainability in the Brazilian economy with the objective of generating zero carbon by 2050.

The event will promote lectures, debates and extensive networking between businesses that seek sustainable solutions and companies like MJV, which will present its latest solution.
