Jack Sweeney used Twitter to follow the billionaire’s air routes, but the account was taken offline after Musk completed the purchase of the social network. Jack Sweeney and Elon Musk Reproduction Jack Sweeney, a young man who became famous for monitoring and sharing Elon Musk’s flights in real time, announced the migration to Threads, to continue tracking the technology billionaire’s air routes. “ElonJet has arrived at Threads!” he said in his first post. The profile on Threads already has more than 80,000 followers as of Monday morning (10). In 2020, Sweeney, who lives in Florida (USA), created an automated Twitter profile (@ElonJet) that he published whenever Musk’s jet took off or landed. The account was suspended in 2022 when Elon Musk acquired Twitter. Musk’s social network also suspended Sweeney’s personal profile. “@ElonJet” had more than 500,000 followers and never pleased Musk, who, even before buying Twitter, made an offer of $5,000 for Sweeney to take the page down. Sweeney counter-offered and asked for $50,000. The billionaire didn’t like it and said it didn’t “seem right to pay to take the account off the air”. The young man even offered to delete his profile in exchange for an internship – but the offer was not answered. In addition to Musk, the young man still manages an account that tracks the private jets of at least 21 Russian billionaires. Among them are Roman Abramovich, owner of the English club Chelsea and Dmitry Rybolovlev, billionaire owner of Monaco. ‘elonmusksjet’ profile created on Threads Playback/Threads ALSO READ: It wasn’t just Threads: 5 times Mark Zuckerberg bet on ‘clones’ of his competitors Musk pins Threads and can sue Meta: ‘Competition is good, not cheating’ Delete Does the Threads profile also delete your Instagram?
