Duane “Keffe D” Davis, 60, was formally charged in September of this year by a Clark County grand jury and arrested in Las Vegas in Shakur’s death. He is suspected of leading a group of men to kill the artist. Tupac is considered one of rap music’s greatest artists and was also one of the most commercially successful, selling more than 75 million records worldwide. They were waiting at a red light when a white Cadillac pulled up next to them and gunfire broke out. Tupac was shot multiple times and died a week later at age 25. In 2018, after a cancer diagnosis, Davis publicly admitted in a TV interview to being inside the Cadillac during the attack. Authorities said he orchestrated a plot to avenge the beating of his nephew, Orlando Anderson, by Tupac and members of his entourage just hours before the shooting. At a news conference following Davis’ arrest, police showed security camera footage showing several men kicking and punching a person they identified as Anderson. According to the police, after this fight; Davis, Anderson and two other men entered the white Cadillac with a gun, looking for the car where Tupac was. Six shots were fired into the passenger side and the rapper was hit four times. Authorities have not said who actually shot the artist.
