Supposed son of Gugu Liberato talks about DNA: “I’m going to the end”

Ricardo Rocha, 48 years old, revealed the reason for waiting until now to tell everything and ask for the test

The news that Gugu Liberato would have become a father as a teenager, when he was about 15 years old, took many people by surprise, including the family of the presenter, who died in 2019 after a domestic accident. It turns out that, in the midst of the dispute over the inheritance left, Ricardo Rocha, 48, stood out by asking for a DNA test to prove that he is one of the heirs. The trader spoke with Roberto Cabrini and revealed the reason for having waited until now to tell everything and ask for recognition.

In the chat, which airs this Sunday (25) on Camera Record, at 11:45 pm, Ricardo confessed that he feels that Gugu is his father, but admits that he needs proof. “The paternity exam is to remove this doubt… I’ll go until the end”, he declared.

In addition to the exclusive interview, the Record TV journalist will recall all the controversies surrounding the dispute over the assets left by one of Brazil’s most famous presenters.

Peaceful process with brothers

Trader Ricardo Rocha, 48 years old, who claims to be the son of Gugu Liberato, spoke for the first time after the story became public. He asked for a DNA test to prove that he is also the presenter’s heir, who died in November 2019.

In a statement given to columnist Mônica Bergamo, from Folha de S. Paulo, the man demonstrated that he wanted a peaceful process with the alleged brothers, João Augusto, Marina and Sofia.

“I hope everyone accepts it, because it makes it easier for the family and for me. The only thing I want right now is what’s already being reported. I filed the paternity test and be recognized”

he said.

DNA request

Trader Ricardo Rocha, 48, claims to be the son of Gugu Liberato and asks for a DNA test to prove the situation. If the theory is confirmed, the man wants his share in the presenter’s inheritance. The news was revealed by columnist Mônica Bergamo, from Folha de S. Paulo. According to the journalist, Gugu’s three children, João Augusto, Marina and Sofia, and his sister, Aparecida, were advised that a court official was at the scene to deliver a subpoena to them.

At the time, they were informed that there is a paternity investigation action. “post mortem” against Gugu Liberato. If the family members deny the DNA request, they ask that the presenter’s body be exhumed for the test to be carried out.

According to the subpoena, Ricardo Rocha’s mother, identified as Otacília Gomes da Silva, would have met Gugu Liberato in the second half of 1973, in a bakery. Working as a nanny and maid in a house next to the establishment, she went there daily. After meeting the presenter, they began to flirt, had a friendship, and then an intimate relationship.

Still according to the columnist, in 1974, after spending holidays with the family she worked for on the coast of São Paulo, she returned and “found the pregnancy”. Otacília would have looked for Gugu to report the news, but he would not have been found.

In the subpoena, it was alleged that Ricardo started to follow Gugu on television, from a distance, at the beginning of his career, but always thinking about looking for his father in the future. With the presenter’s death and the dispute over the inheritance, the man would have decided to seek his rights, moving the paternity action.
