With sensory activities, work involves elementary school students
Manaus (AM) – Students from the 2nd to the 7th grade, of Elementary School, from the State School (EE) Judge André Vidal de Araújo, held a presentation and exhibition on the systems of the human body. The activity marks the end of the 2nd bimester and the exhibition will be mounted until this Friday (23/06), in the morning shift.
Guided by biology teacher Renata Barros, students developed an illustrated album and several prototypes to present to other students at the school, based on classes and research. The teacher highlighted the students’ excitement in developing the activity and how she believes that the students benefited from the action.
“The students were very excited to participate. They were even asking to exhibit the works and wanted to show their production. When students are able to show in practice what they have learned, it means that yes, the result has been achieved”,
said the teacher.
Sensoriality
During the division for presentation and exhibition, deaf students and those with hearing difficulties were shown the sense organs.
In the presentation, they used sign language to explain the work together with the interpreter Simone Barroso and also developed a sensorial activity with the participants, in which they had to experience sensations and flavors.
The school manager, Suzy Vidinho, spoke about the idea of creating a different production that could be fun for the students and that everyone could participate in.
“Professor Renata shared the idea of the differentiated methodology in an informal conversation and we realized how attractive this approach would be to the students, which in fact it was. Deaf students feel valued in being able to participate and present safely, as they are welcomed by the entire school community, with a very special monitoring by the interpreter Simone Barroso. Our school is walking daily towards inclusion in its essence”,
explained the manager.
