Student from the state network is a finalist in the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation drawing contest

The most voted work will be the official logo of the Science and Technology Week that takes place from October 14th to 20th

Manaus (AM) – Student Eloíze Bais, from Escola Estadual de Tempo Integral (EETI) Altair Severiano Nunes, in the south-central zone of Manaus, had her design selected in the “Drawing Contest” to choose the visual identity for the National Week of Science and Technology (SNCT 2023), which should take place from October 14 to 20, 2023. Highlight among the arts from all over Brazil, Eloíze’s drawing competes among the ten finalists selected by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MCTI) and may be the winner of the dispute, by popular vote.

Anyone can vote to choose which design represents the biggest science popularization event in the country. Student Eloíze Bais’ drawing is the “B”. The voting period runs until July 16. The announcement of the result will be on July 20th.

The student, who has been drawing since she was 6 years old, explained that at first she was nervous during the production of the work, but that now, she hopes that she will be selected to be the creator of the SNCT 2023 logo.

“In the beginning, I had a little difficulty creating my art. I would like it to portray the use of clean energy, I tried my best to convey this idea in my drawing and, now, I am very happy that I was one of the selected ones and I have the possibility of being the creator of the official art of the Science and Technology Week”,

told Eloize.

Theme

This year, the theme of the contest is “Basic Sciences for Sustainable Development”. The initiative is promoted by MCTI and seeks to select and reward the design that will be used as the basis for creating the visual identity of SNCT 2023.

The manager of the teaching unit, Lana Albuquerque, said that standing out in competitions of this size encourages students to dedicate themselves more to their skills.

“When we provide students with the possibility of participating in national competitions, it encourages them to expand their knowledge and, with that, they have the possibility of learning from other students in Brazil, in addition to improving their learning and boosting their aspirations for life”,

The winning student will win a trip to Brasilia, with the right to a companion, during the National Week of Science and Technology to participate in the opening ceremony of the event. The ten finalist drawings will be exhibited at the gallery on the SNCT 2023 website.
