He is treated with intravenous antibiotic therapy
The singer and composer Herbert Vianna, from the group The Paralamas do Sucesso, was admitted to the Hospital Copa D’Or, in Rio de Janeiro, with bacterial pneumonia. In a medical report signed by the hospital management and a pulmonologist, it was reported that the artist is being treated with venous antibiotic therapy, respiratory physiotherapy and oxygen therapy support. He is lucid and breathing on his own, and the response to treatment is considered adequate.
At the site and on the band’s social networks, the concert schedule across the country has not been changed. The next presentations are scheduled for Teresina, in Piauí, on July 7th, and in Juiz de Fora, in Minas Gerais, on July 8th.
Accident
Herbert had already been admitted to the same hospital in 2001, after suffering an accident in an ultralight in the region of Mangaratiba, on the Costa Verde in the state of Rio. He was accompanied by his wife, English journalist Lucy Needham, who died at the scene.
The singer was hospitalized for 45 days, some of them in a coma, partially lost his memory and became paraplegic. The musical career resumed after a gradual recovery process. Since then, the group The Paralamas do Sucesso recorded five albums.
