The Credit Cooperative is the newest member of the Polo Digital de Manaus, contributing to the technological advancement of Amazonas

Manaus (AM) – Sicredi, the country’s first cooperative financial institution with more than 7 million members, closed yet another successful partnership in Amazonas. On the last 13th, the cooperative’s board represented by the chairman of the board of directors, Sergio Dezordi, the executive director Francisco Motta, and the vice-president Rudinei Kronbauer, visited the structures of the Manaus Digital Hub.

The Manaus Digital Hub aims to provide representativeness and governance for the information technology ecosystem. The association is also responsible for carrying out new innovation projects, contributing to the development of business and growth in the region.

The new partnership formed between the association and Sicredi Vale do Cerrado aims to expand activities in Amazonas and provide effective and solid performance through the differentials of credit cooperatives.

According to the president of the cooperative, the partnership seeks to improve the technological area of ​​the Amazonian capital. “Contributing to technological advancement and leveraging big business has always been a priority for Sicredi. We do this because we believe in the full potential of the regions where we are inserted”, contextualizes Sergio Dezordi.

Adherence to the Digital Hub should allow the cooperative to encourage the promotion of activities related to information and communication technology (ICT) throughout Amazonas.

says the executive director of the cooperative, Francisco Motta.

According to the study carried out by the Economic Research Foundation (FIPE), released in 2020, which evaluated the Economic Benefits of Credit Unions in the Brazilian Economy, for every BRL 1 granted in credit by Cooperatives, BRL 2.45 is generated in the economy’s GDP and for every BRL 35.8 also granted by cooperatives, a new job is created in the country.

Sicredi Vale do Cerrado believes that moving the wheel of the economy is also creating opportunities for innovation and growth for new businesses to be carried out, and this leads to the generation of new sources of income, fostering the local economy.

The study also evaluated economic data from all Brazilian cities with and without credit unions between 1994 and 2017 and crossed information from the IBGE. It showed that credit cooperatives increase the per capita GDP of municipalities by 5.6%, create 6.2% more formal job openings and increase the number of commercial establishments by 15.7%, stimulating local entrepreneurship.
