Sicredi is featured in the BNDES ranking of financial agents

Cooperative financial institution disbursed 39% more last year compared to 2021, with a nominal increase of R$ 1.5 billion from one year to another

Important support for members who need credit to invest in the business, Sicredi grew by 39% in disbursements from the National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES) in 2022, compared to the previous year. Throughout the country, the cooperative financial institution lent R$ 5.4 billion in credit, a nominal increase of R$ 1.5 billion from one year to the next, with the assistance of around 30 thousand operations. With this performance, Sicredi gained a prominent position in the ranking of BNDES financial agents.
In the states of the Central-West and North regions, which include Mato Grosso, Pará, Rondônia Acre, Amazonas, Amapá, Roraima and some cities in Goiás, Sicredi recorded disbursements of R$ 3.256 billion last year, an increase of 16% over the BRL 2.797 billion of 2021. Compared to 2020, when loans totaled BRL 2.601 billion, the leap is 25.1%. The amount disbursed in the region accounts for 60% of the total amount borrowed, via Sicredi, in the period.
“We are happy with the expansion of access to credit and with the local development of the communities where we are present. Together with the BNDES, we work hard to boost the local economy and reach new levels of growth”, says Ezio Almeida, Director of Business Development at Central Sicredi Centro Norte.
He adds that Sicredi has stood out on the national financial scene for creating solutions based on this philosophy, “from understanding to serving”, with the aim of improving the quality of life and fulfilling the dreams of its members.
Throughout Brazil, Sicredi granted BRL 3.6 billion in credit for Agricultural Programs in 2022, being the largest onlending agent for the Pronaf Investimento, Pronamp Investimento, Inovagro and Moderagro lines, aimed at small and medium-sized producers. Once again, the institution stands out in family farming, with a 41% increase in the volume of Pronaf Investimento disbursements alone.
At Moderagro, which finances modernization and productivity expansion projects in the agricultural sectors, there was a 27% increase in the volume of disbursements compared to the previous year. In addition to the growth in the volume of disbursements, Sicredi presented an increase of 11% in the number of operations approved in 2022. In Pronaf alone, the cooperative institution approved more than 17 thousand operations, a growth of 17% compared to 2021.

Another highlight is the high performance in granting credit to micro, small and medium-sized companies, with emphasis on the Small Business Credit Line, through which it increased from R$ 282 million in 2021 to R$ 965 million in 2022, expansion of 242%.

This point is what differentiates us when we look at the context of national financial institutions”, says Almeida, adding that, “by maintaining a close and active relationship with its members, Sicredi has the possibility of knowing the needs of each one, and suggesting the best credit alternative, suitable for each profile and reality”, he concludes.
